Earthworm Tunneling's ultimate goal is to advance the state-of-the-art in mining and tunneling equipment design. To this end, we have initiated a multi-phased program of basic research and engineering to develop the precursors to the equipment we ultimately have in mind.
One of the major design concepts we have been developing is the HydroBore?. Such a machine would have technological capabilities not found in current tunneling and drilling mechanisms. With sufficient funding, a concept like the hydrobore could be brought to life, which would generate positive effects in many related fields, not the least of which being the utilization of geothermal power.
